About Us

If you want to learn more about us, you’re in the right place. Read to learn why we decided to create this site to share the area we love.

Our story

As kids, we were blessed to grow up in the Higgins Lake area, and often took for granted all the area had to offer. Summers were spent on the lake and around the bonfire, swimming and tubing, fishing and roasting s’mores. In the fall, we headed to the woods, hunting for dinner, or gathered a group of friends together for a game of backyard football. Winter meant heading back to the lake for ice fishing, finding hills for sledding, skiing on the many nearby trails, or simply staying inside, keeping warm by the fireplace. Springs were spent turkey hunting and playing golf at many of the great courses the region has to offer.
In our various high school summer jobs however, we met plenty of visitors who were unaware of all the local attractions. Because of this, we decided to create this site to share the area we know and love.

Meet the Team

We have known each other since second grade, when Jacob moved to Roscommon, from Omaha, Nebraska. We attended school together from elementary school through high school, and were fortunate to graduate Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the Class of 2015 at Roscommon High School. Early on, we bonded over our shared love of sports, and over the years were frequent teammates, playing baseball, soccer, and basketball together in addition to the occasional backyard football or whiffle ball game.

I am currently in my first year of dental school at Marquette University. Prior to this, I attended the University of Michigan where I graduated with distinction with a B.S. in biopsychology, cognition, and neuroscience. By creating this website, I hope to share the beauty of the Higgins Lake area with others from around the country.  It’s my dream that our insights and experiences can be used to benefit the community. After graduating from dental school, I hope to return up north to practice dentistry in this beautiful part of the country.

I am currently in my first year of law school at the University of Michigan. Before that, I attended the University of Notre Dame where I graduated cum laude with a B.B.A. in accounting and political science. After law school, I hope to return home to Roscommon to work at my father’s law firm, and eventually run for public office. Growing up in Roscommon, I always loved the sense of community the town had, and hope that through this website, we are able to give back to the area and help local businesses.
